Packaging and Assembly

There’s some serious packaging happening here. You get wrapping, bubble wraps, boxes, styrofoam, etc. Even the wheels come with a braided thread to prevent any possible scratches. This is premium packaging, one of the best we’ve seen.
While it’s essential to keep the product packed, you’ve come here for the real juice, and it starts with mounting. We found the assembly very easy. The package comes with illustrations-only instructions, which allows the brand to ship worldwide without having to make different instructions (no language barrier here) – a smart move.
Generally speaking, the instructions are straightforward and cover all aspects. You can expect a short mounting time. If you’re used to mounting chairs or have the talent of an IKEA employee, you could be done in less than 30 minutes. If you’re on the slower side of the spectrum regarding handyman capacities, expect a 45-minute easy task.

Design and Features

This chair, especially the leather version, emanates style and elegance. If you choose the leather version (which is the one we are talking about), remember that while you may find it firmer, you’ll have higher endurance. Moreover, this added firmness helps you achieve a better posture and ergonomics.
The noblechairs ICON comes in a myriad of colours and includes both a lumbar support and a headrest. Unlike the higher-end model Hero (LINK), which has adjustable built-in lumbar support, this one only provides a pillow. However, for us, this is also a bonus point for flexibility. You can have different people of multiple stature and heights, and they can all feel their backs supported. As far as the headrest, we found it stable and head-friendly. They have memory foam in them.
Lastly, the chair comes with 4d armrests, which provide great adjustability. However, we would like to have seen armrest pads for added comfort. Suppose you want to conjugate work and pleasure into one chair. In that case, noblechairs also sells foot support that is sold separately.
While most gaming chairs feel like they’ve been pulled off a racing car, this one has excellent taste in it. If it was plugged from a car, it was definitely a Maseratti. All in all, this chair is less of a racing car seat and more of a premium office decorative piece.

Comfort and Performance

This is where the noblechairs ICON shines. Since it is built in a leather imitation, the natural rigidness could be a turn-off. You couldn’t be more wrong. This chair offers some ridiculous comfort while being somewhat rigid. This allows for a perfect posture without any sort of strain on your body.
As with all chairs, you’ll have to give it some weeks to break in the chair. Both you and the chair need some getting used to! After a few weeks, you’ll feel tangible cushion while getting a sense of firmness and support.
Performance-wise, this chair is a bang for the buck. Over time it retains its shape, and you can pull those long hours without feeling pain. A nice feature is that this chair is very quiet. You will not get those horrible creaking sounds that some chairs’ wheels make. If you buy the feet support, you can recline the back to 135º, put your favourite show on, and take a break!

Build Quality

Overall, the noblechairs ICON presents a premium build quality. The metallic frame is excellent, the wheelbase is steady, and the wheels glide very well. The internal steel frame is 2mm thick, higher than most rivals who use 1-1.5mm. Sometimes you only get this type of construction by paying way more (and I know these are not cheap chairs).
It’s always a bummer when you pay for a product that doesn’t deliver but believe us when we say this is not the case. The stitching and upholstery are very high quality, and you can feel this product went through lots of thinking. The materials are high-end, and ultimately you’ll feel like you get what you’ve paid for.

The Bottom Line

Choosing an office chair is a challenging task. This will be your companion for a long time and during extended hours. Hence, it would be best to choose while being accompanied by the most information and resources possible.
As you can attest by this article, we are fans of the noblechairs ICON. Clocking in at $500, this beautiful chair ticks all the boxes. It is stylish, extremely comfortable and suited for all purposes. Although this is not a cheap chair, it is most definitely worth it!
